Lunar Frequencies — A live monthly jazz series honoring the lunar cycle
Lunar Frequencies is Royal Sun’s live underground jazz series, held on the third Wednesday of each month beneath the majestic San Jacinto Mountains. An evening of sonic exploration, curated artists and desert mystique at High Moon.

Featuring:
Calycosa — a Los Angeles improvisational cosmic jazz quartet. Ambient-soul rooted in jazz tradition, branching into spontaneous experimentation across form and time. JIJI’s Jazz Club calls their sound jazz-grounded and gloriously spontaneous; Dublab celebrated them as part of Black experimental expression. Vocals, flute, dual pianos, percussion — less a set than a transmission.
Qur’an Shaheed — An experimental pianist, poet, and singer trained across jazz, classical, and contemporary music. Her sound is a rupture and a reconciliation — soul jazz and modern composition, choral purity and beautiful chaos.
Ankh-El — An LA vocalist and flutist whose voice moves between soul, jazz, and R&B. A solo artist and collaborator who sings with a rare, grounding warmth.
Salenta — An LA pianist, composer, and selecta, deep in the city’s live jazz and experimental circles. A builder of musical collectives, fluent in the spaces between genres.
Tommaso Cappellato — An Italian-born, LA-based drummer, bandleader, and producer whose path runs from straight-ahead jazz in New York to cosmic, electronic-laced rhythm. Founder of Domanda Music; a true seeker behind the kit.
